I’ve been away for quite a while! I’ll keep this particular post short and to the point before continuing on with my favorite kinds of posts, those about books and those about Creepypasta’s! A few updates about us, my husband and I have come a long way! He’s furthering his career, which means that he’s in Japan until early Summer, but we’ve also started our family! Two weeks before his deployment we found out we were finally going to be parents after a year of infertility and countless doctors visits and our little bundle of joy is due in late July, just after he gets back! Those are the reasons I’ve been away, with all the doctors visits, family visits, and social events I just haven’t had time but I plan on catching up until the baby is born and then we’ll go from there!

For as long as I can remember I have always loved to read, but when I was old enough to fully begin understanding the dimensions of writing I began to think ” No! It’s better like this” or ” Meh, saw that coming from chapter one!”  and that’s when I discovered that I had a passion for writing! Whether I am good at it or not is up for debate, but I love it just the same!

I have written stories in many styles, genres, and formats. Most of them pertain to the scarier and creepy side of the spectrum such as Horror and Supernatural but there are some that are strictly Fantasy and some even have a bit of Romance. I prefer short stories, as despite being a writer, I have very little patience to sit in front of my computers and only use my fingers to type. Though I do have one in progress that is multiple chapters. Many of the short stories I write often end up on site’s known for what is called a “Creepypasta“. Which is the main subject for this post.

Creepypasta- Consists of short horror stories that were often originally posted on message boards or sent via email. Many are meant to be legitimately scary and unnerve the reader, while others are intentionally written to be silly or incoherent.

Two notable sites that I frequently visit and submit stories to are: Creepypasta Index and Creepypasta Wikia . Both are wonderful sites full of the stories you grew up hearing as well as stories that were written and submitted by talented writers. Below is a list of some of the best I have come across from both sites.

WARNING!- These following stories can contain vivid imagery, violence, and adult language and themes. Caution is advised.

Bon Appétit – This story is a little dialogue heavy, and has decent imagery. Will definitely make you cautious of food and restaurants for a while.

12 Minutes – This one will definitely give you pause the next time you turn on your TV. I know I was nervous about it for a week and Televangelists still creep me out. And the imagery will forever be burned into my minds eye.

The Holders Series – This is a series of relatively short writings that contain, as of now, 102 chapters with more to come.  I suggest reading the one titled ” The Seeker ” first as it works well as an introduction to the series. The writer/writers who pulled these master pieces from their brains are geniuses. Some are cute and funny, some are horrifying and disgustingly addictive, while still others use words in such a way that it leaves you stunned in wonder and seeing the story as clearly as if you were actually watching them in person.

The Silence – Definitely one of the more unique stories. Its a little jumpy and can seem a little inconsistent, but the overall creep factor makes up for it.

The Wallflower – The type of story that can be heart wrenching and then when the realization comes that human nature determines your fate is a definite plus to the story.

The Perfect Child – This one will perhaps hit a little deeper for women. It encompasses the feeling of madness and insanity perfectly and the story as a whole will send shivers down your spine.

An Egg – This story is simply mind blowing. Has rather religious overtones, so if that or unusual interpretations of religion bother you, I suggest you skip this one. It is not as creepy and scary as it is simply awing and mind blowing! Kudos to this writer.

Contaminated Water – This one holds a special place in the blackness of my heart that is specifically for Creepypasta’s. It has a very unique note of burgeoning madness and a healthy dose of disgust and horror. Yet, strangely enough, in the midst of the madness of the narrators mind there is a specific note of love that only furthers to strengthen the shivers traveling up your spine.

The Thing In The Window – This one holds a mastery over every emotion that triggers our hearts to race, paranoia to raise its ugly head, and fear to boil in our guts. It will definitely make you think twice about looking out the window.

Masterpiece – This one is truly terrifying. It expands on the fear that something could get to us in our own homes and dispose of the ones who are supposed to protect us. It can be found in two different places, one on Creepypastaindex (which is the source of both versions) and one here on 9GAG where a fan made a comic. I personally prefer the 9GAG version, as the writing just seems more neatly constructed to me, but both are equally terrifying.

The Hidden Things – It has a masterfully crafted grip on all things demonic and maddening in the eyes of the readers. It pulls on the chords that causes us to wonder whats really out there and just how close it could be to destroying us in Mind, Body and Soul.

The Guardian Angel – This story was great! * The imagery was vivid and gave the horror/creep factor the tale.  The concept of a Personal Reaper/Your Own Ghost (as it could go either way) was GENIUS!! It managed to hold on to the creepy and terrifying aspect but then deliver a final note of sweetness and gentleness at the finish.* I could ramble on and on about this amazing story! A MUST READ!

Final Note…..

I hope that you choose to take a bite of the Pasta’s I have shared in this post. The will give thrills, chills, terror and fright to anyone looking for it.

Also the section enclosed in *—*  in the final review for The Guardian Angel was an excerpt from the comment I posted on for the story on its home site of Creepypastaindex. Thanks all!

Astrology is a well known pseudo-science. We all come into contact with it on a daily basis. Whether we actively look up our charts, have an app for it on our phones and Facebook, or read the horoscopes in the daily paper for fun. We’ve all seen it and most of us have marveled at its sometimes scary accuracy.

In this post I’m going to use a chart I have crafted for my husband, who is a big believer in Astrology. It takes a lot of patience to to craft an accurate chart, especially if you are going to write all the information down and then retype it in a blog, so I have shortened it to the minimum since I’m sure no one wants to read a mile long blog. 🙂 So here we go!

Rising Sign (Ascendant) is in Cancer
Rising Cancerians are sensitive to emotional signals from other people, even though there is a reserve about about you that is sometimes difficult to penetrate. You possess great artistic abilities and have greatamounts of imagination and awareness.

Sun is in Aries.
By nature, you are very energetic and high-spirited. You are fiercely independent — you must be first in everything you do, and you enjoy taking risks. You are the one who will rush in where angels fear to tread. Quite brilliant at initiating new projects, you are terrible at following them through to completion. You are an enthusiastic leader but you tend to be a reluctant follower. Often you are quick to anger, but you usually recover just as fast, regretting later things you said when you were upset. One of your best traits is that you are simple and direct, blunt and honest — just be careful you do not hurt others’ feelings. Your need to be competitive at all costs may provoke resistance from others, but, as long as you maintain your usual Sunny good humor, this should not prove to be a major problem for you.

Moon is in Cancer.
For the most part, you are very strong and secure emotionally. You intuitively know what to do to make others feel comfortable, loved, accepted and needed. You naturally enjoy feeding and taking care of others. Be careful that your mothering does not turn into smothering. At times, you tend to feel that those to whom you are attached can never do anything without your assistance and support. You have an almost desperate need to be loved and wanted and needed by everyone with whom you come into contact, and you go out of your way to be accommodating to them.

Mercury is in Aries.
Very quick-witted, you are known for being an independent thinker. You love to debate and argue, and are excellent at repartee and battles of wits. At times, however, you act too fast on hastily formed opinions and thus waste a lot of energy defending your rash and sometimes incorrect conclusions. It is perfectly acceptable for you to defend your beliefs with your usual vigor, but try not to take the opinions of others as personal insults and keep the open mindedness your famous for.

Venus is in Taurus.
You are known to be a warm and affectionate person, and you tend to form long- lasting attachments. The reverse of this is that you can also be quite possessive once you have made a commitment. The beauty, luxury and comfort of your surroundings are important to you and you will devote much time and energy to making your home just right. Beware of your tendency toward self-indulgence, especially with respect to eating incorrectly. You also need outside stimuli to get you in gear When things come too easily for you, you can be lazy and indolent.

Mars is in Gemini.
Your energies get turned on quickly whenever anything interests you. But you have a very short attention span and it is difficult for you to complete tasks because something else more interesting always seems to be beckoning. You love to debate and argue, usually in a spirit of friendly disagreement. But watch out that you do not get too overly aggressive or antagonistic or others will be quick to take offense where none may have really been intended. You need to be in constant physical motion — sports or daily exercise is a must for you if you are to feel fit and healthy.

Jupiter is in Leo.
You must be proud of all that you do in order to grow and develop. You enjoy being totally honest and aboveboard and you revel in the admiration and respect you receive from others due to your high- minded, upright way of life. Make sure, though, that your natural tendency to boast and show off is based on your actual accomplishments.

Saturn is in Aquarius.
Your personal sense of values is a reflection of the value structures of your peer group and of those you respect and admire. Try to be more critical in your acceptance of these values — you tend to prejudge the abilities of those you trust and then follow what they say blindly. Basically very conservative, you prefer orderly, systematic changes and fear doing things rashly or impulsively. Ideas and philosophies must have some sort of immediately realizable, utilitarian function in order for you to pay any attention to them.

Uranus is in Capricorn.
You, and your peer group as well, seek out practical solutions to a changing society’s attitudes to customs, traditions and authority structures. Your logical and orderly manner of dealing with these matters will result in permanent and carefully planned, but sweeping, reforms.

Neptune is in Capricorn.
You, and your entire generation, will idealize work, practicality and the ability to attain reasonable goals. But, because you will also stress the need to be selfless and giving, you may find it difficult to attain your goals unless you have lowered your expectations on all fronts.

Pluto is in Scorpio.
For your entire generation, this is a period of intense research and discovery in areas that were heretofore considered mysterious, remote or taboo. The root causes for many complex occurrences will be unearthed due to the intensity and thoroughness of the search.

N. Node is in Capricorn.
You rarely get involved closely with anyone unless he or she has something specific and practical to offer you. You tend to be “all business” when it comes to dealing with others. You’re usually so intently focused on a particular goal that you rarely have time for social niceties or casual fellowship. But you can definitely be counted on by others to get things done. When you say that you’ll do something, you do it. As such, you’re a valuable member of any team situation and will probably rise to a position of leadership within the group. Your trustworthiness and sense of responsibility are unquestioned. But do try to avoid the temptation to “use” others to reach your goals — they might come to resent you.

That is the end of the chart. This fits my husband to a T. Although my husband was born on a the cusp of Pisces-Aries and this gives him a slight damper on his temper and promotes his romantic side. The wonders of Astrology will probably never cease to amaze us and I for one plan to keep using it.

Final Note…..

Everything mentioned in this post is based solely on my opinion of Astrology and what I have gotten out my Astrology books. If you would like to know your own charts there are many online services that do it for free and many books that will teach you the art of Astrology. Thanks for reading!

A small note before we get into the review, I love all books, no matter the subject matter. This review will contain nothing explicit but this particular book is intended for adults and WILL contain mature subject matter upon opening its cover. So I ask that you please proceed with caution if you decide to read this book as it is not intended for those with weak stomachs or those under the age of 18. Thank you.

This book review is for Skin Crawl: Darkly Erotic Horror by Alex Severin. This is a Kindle eBook only as far as I know. It published for the Kindle in April of 2011.

Genre: Horror, Erotic, Thriller

What it Contains: The book consists of  ten wonderfully horrific stories of eroticism. Each one more uniquely terrifying and disgusting than the last. A favorite of mine from the book is the short story, Premature. Its disgusting and highly detailed descriptions will send shivers down your spine and make you wrinkle your nose in disgust and then the very end will leave you wondering how the character could do such a thing not realize who he was doing it to.

The other nine stories are also incredibly detailed and well written and will leave you contemplating  the minds of the authors and how someone could come up with something so perfectly blended of the two genres.

Length: 140 KB ( roughly 130-150 pages) broken up into ten separate short stories by different authors.

Who Would Enjoy It: Adults with strong stomachs. This book is not intended for anyone under the age of 18 or those with weak constitutions. Those who enjoy unique storytelling will love this book.

Enjoyment Level: A 10 out of 10.

Rating: MA/ Erotic. It has strong sexual references and acts depicted as well as strong references to violence and violent act and has mentions of drugs and alcohol.* This rating is given by what I consider to be MA, the publishing company is what rated the book Erotic.

Cover for Skin Crawl

This book is an amazing read and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys erotic or horror stories. It has every element that a good erotic or horror book should have. A definite must!!!

Final Note…..

All things here are from my perspective and my opinions of the books content and are merely my suggestions for a good read. At only a dollar at the Kindle store this book is a must have. If you want to purchase this book, go here.

I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. Happy reading!

Today I’ve been blasting my poor speakers into oblivion!! Playing everything from old hard core metal to Elvis Presley (Yes, I’m serious) to 50 Cent. I have rather varied interests in music from metal, to rock, to pop, to hip-hop, to older rap like Eminem. The only thing I don’t listen to at all is country, I can’t stand it.

Some of the things I’ve listened to today:

1. Lollipop- Lil Wayne

2. In The Dark- Dev

3. P-I-M-P – 50 Cent

4. Stan- Eminem

5. Cyclone- BabyBash

6. The Joker- The Steve Miller Band

7. Heart Of Glass- Blondie

8. I Kissed A Girl- Katy Perry

9. Tom Sawyer- Rush

10. Politically Correct and Axel Rose – SR-71

11. Bohemian Rhapsody – Queen

12. Girlfriend- Avril Lavigne

13. The Wall- Pink Floyd

14. The Cave- Mumford & Sons

15. While Your Lips Are Still Red- NightWish

I’ve listened to so many genres and sub-genres today its ridiculous!!! I love my music and I couldn’t live without for a single second!!!

Final Note….

If you do not know some of these songs you should listen to them but if you are sensitive to course language I advise against songs 1, 3, 4, and 5. If you are against suggestive themes the aforementioned songs as well as songs 2, 6, and 8 should be avoided. The rest have nothing that would seem to be overly cautious with. Thank you and Happy Listening.

Book # 3: Abhorsen by Garth Nix

This Book Review is for Abhorsen by Garth Nix. It is the beloved finale to Sabriel and Lirael and is the third and final book in the Abhorson Trilogy and was published in 2003.

The New Abhorsen Bookcover

Genre: Fantasy

What it Contains: Action is very prominent and  smaller conflicts are no longer present as they once were as the main conflict unfolds throughout the novel. Romance is no longer as strong a theme since potential love connections are lost or no longer feasible. Mystery is prominent and unfold very well as the books continues.  Then the final addition of all for good series…. the final ending. The Ending is a well written finale to the series and long awaited as well simply because the readers want to know how it all turns out.

Length: The Hardcover version is 638 pages that is broken up into three parts consisting of a total of 29 chapters plus the prologue and epilogue.

Who Would Enjoy It: It is intended for Young Adults but really anyone who is over 13 would enjoy the book immensely.

Enjoyment Level: A 10 out of 10.

Rating: Young Adult/PG.  It has violence but nothing that’s to graphic or disturbing. Slight mentions of nudity and sex but once again only in passing and nothing explicit. * The first rating is what the publishers rate the book, the second is what I perceive the events in the book to accurately fit the best.

The Original Abhorsen Book Cover

Overall the book and its counterparts are a great read and I would very highly recommend it and the remaining installment of the trilogy to others. It has every thing a good fantasy book and series should always have and is extremely well written just as its original counterpart is. Happy reading!

Final Note….

Most of the things I’ve written here are from my perspective and how I see the things in the book and its all merely a suggestion for a good reading experience on my part. Thank you.

Book # 2: Lirael by Garth Nix

This Book Review is for Lirael by Garth Nix. It is the beloved sequel to Sabriel and the second book in the Abhorson Trilogy and was published in 2001.

The New Book Cover of Lirael

Genre: Fantasy

What it Contains: Action is very consistent theme and a few smaller conflicts are present as the main conflict unfolds throughout the novel. Romance is defiantly an interesting topic in this book but I won’t reveal why, you’ll need to find that out yourself.  Drama and scandals are rather prominent near the beginning, though not overly so, that gradually deepens and intrigues the reader further as the novel goes on.  Then the best addition of all for books in a good series…. the cliffhanger. Revealing something that if you paid attention you’ll be delighted to know that your theory ( or possibly theories 😉 ) was correct, but at the same time giving another mystery for you to work out in your mind as you read the next book, though if you solved these first few you’ll have little trouble with the next few.

Length: The Hardcover version is 720 pages that is broken up into three parts consisting of a total of 44 chapters plus the prologue and epilogue.

The Original Book Cover of Lirael

Overall the book is a great read and I would very highly recommend it and the remaining installment of the trilogy to others. It has every thing a good fantasy book should always have and is extremely well written just as its original counterpart is. Happy reading!

Final Note….

Most of the things I’ve written here are from my perspective and how I see the things in the book and its all merely a suggestion for a good reading experience on my part. Thank you.

My first book review is for the book Sabriel by Garth Nix. It is the first in the Abhorson Trilogy and was first released in 1995.

New Sabriel Cover

Genre: Fantasy

What it contains: Action is very prominent and small conflicts are present as well as the main conflict of the story. Just enough romance is written to keep it interesting but not turn it into a romance novel. Some light drama near the beginning that gradually deepens as the novel goes on.  Then the best addition of all for a series beginner….a cliffhanger. Not enough to leave you hanging severely if you would rather not continue with the series, but enough to keep you curious and wondering if you do.

Length: The Hardcover version is 304 pages broken up into twenty-nine chapters and the prologue and epilogue make thirty-one.

Who would enjoy it: It is aimed to be read by young adults, but can be enjoyed by just about anyone over the age of 13.

Enjoyment Level: A 10 out of 10.

Rating: Young Adult/PG. It has violence but nothing to graphic or disturbing. Slight mentions of nudity and sex but once again only in passing and nothing explicit. * This rating is given by what I consider to be PG, the publishing company is what rated the book Young Adult.

Original Sabriel Cover

Overall the book is a great read and I would highly recommend it and the rest of the trilogy to others. It has every thing a good fantasy book should have and is extremely well written. Happy reading!

Final Note…..

Most of the things I’ve written here are from my perspective and how I see the things in the book and its all merely a suggestion for a good reading experience on my part. Thank you.
